Commercial lock replacement
Commercial lock replacement hardware built for daily traffic
Residential-grade locks on commercial doors wear out fast. When a lock has been forced, has worn past repair, or was never heavy enough for the door, it is replaced with hardware sized for the job.

Matching the lock to the door
Commercial locks are graded for durability, and the grade should suit the traffic. Office suites usually take heavy-duty cylindrical lever locks; high-traffic entries and many older buildings use mortise locks; steel back doors often need a deadbolt alongside the latch. Lever handles are the norm on commercial doors because they are easier to operate for everyone, including people with limited grip.
Replacements are fitted to the existing door prep where possible, which avoids new holes in steel or aluminum doors. Where a different lock needs different preparation, ask for the options and costs before anything is cut.
Keys, cylinders and timing
New commercial locks can be keyed to match your existing keys or set to a new key so missing keys stop working. Ask about doing the work before opening or after closing so the door is not left unsecured during business hours.

Common questions
Why did a residential lock fail on our office door?
Residential locks are not built for the number of daily cycles or the force of a door closer. A heavy-duty commercial lock is designed for that use.
Can the new locks use our current keys?
Usually, yes, if the keyway is compatible. Otherwise the new locks are keyed to a new key.
Can you replace locks after hours?
Ask about scheduling planned replacements outside business hours when you call.
