Commercial rekeying
Commercial lock rekeying after turnover, lost keys or a new lease
When keys leave with someone who no longer works for you, or you take over a space from a previous tenant, rekeying makes every old key useless without replacing the hardware.

When businesses rekey
- Taking over a leased space from a previous tenant
- An employee, manager or contractor left without returning keys
- Keys were lost, or a break-in may have exposed a key
- Too many people have keys to too many doors, and you want to start again
How it is done
Each cylinder — mortise, rim, cylindrical lever or storefront — is removed, repinned to a new key, and reinstalled. Doors can be keyed alike so one key opens the set you choose, or keyed differently so a key for the front door does not open the stock room. Ask about doing it before opening or after closing.
Keep a simple record of who holds which key afterwards. It makes the next turnover easier and tells you quickly whether a missing key matters.

Common questions
How is rekeying different from changing the locks?
Rekeying changes the pins inside the existing cylinders so a new key works and old keys don't. Changing the locks replaces the hardware itself.
Can some doors share a key and others not?
Yes. Doors can be keyed alike in groups — for example, staff entrances on one key and an office on another.
Can you rekey high-security cylinders?
Some high-security cylinders use restricted key blanks controlled by the manufacturer or the original dealer. Mention the brand on the call and ask whether yours can be serviced.
